One of three images from the broads, this was the first to be painted. The slightly gloomy skies and the sweep of the river leading to the windmill really appealed to me. After all, you can’t paint images of Norfolk and not fit in a windmill somewhere. Horsey windpump is one of the windmills driving the pumps that keep the broads and the land separate.
Other images: Boating on the Broads, Wally the Reed Cutter
