One of a set of three from the norfolk broads. I put a range of photos up for vote on facebook and this one scored second highest, mainly because of my family members’ votes. My father spent many years in Norfolk as a child and loved boating on the Broads. I guess the popularity might also be because of reminiscing about the Swallows and Amazons book we read at school.

This was my first experience with painting trees and it was frustrating to say the least. I find realistic greens hard to mix so in the end I remembered my art teacher telling me that everythng in nature was really just a shade of grey. It didn’t fix the issues with getting the leafy texture though.
