In the facebook survey on which picture to paint next, this trumped all the votes because my mother asked for it. A more cynical person would say that she just wanted a picture without “another bloody boat” in it!
I loved painting this picture. It was such a simple composition that I took it one step further and kept the brush strokes as minimal as I could.
