One Hour Painting

July 2014

Acrylics on Canvas. Framed.

Category: ,

One weekend I had run out of time to paint anything large or complicated. I had one hour to spare and through that attempting a painting in that hour using a very limited pallette might give me a challenge. The subject matter is Marshwood Vale and the original phot was taken on a frosty winter morning where the frost was hanging off everything. I liked the juxtaposition of the telegraph poles with the beautiful countryside, the frost making those blots on the landscape more natural!

The colours used were Titanium White, Phthalo Blue, Burnt Umber, Paynes Grey and Yellow Ochre.
