This simple landscape is painted on an 8” x 10” inch wood panel. This was a beautiful piece to paint and I deliberately kept the colours clean and the lines simple as it somehow went with the smooth wooden surface.

Having spent much of my childhood on holidays in Dorset I have a fondness for the coast lines there and often return to them over and again while searching for inspiration.

Of course it gave me the opportunity to break out the fan brush again for the grass at the bottom of the painting. This is appearing so often in my paintings, of all styles, I should really consider using it at my signature although it may look a little odd on portraits.
